Kristen Marshall is an Assistant Professor at Heriot-Watt University, affiliated with the School of Social Sciences and Edinburgh Business School. She holds a PhD in Digital Marketing (2023), an MBA from Edinburgh Napier University (2013), and a BA (Hons) in Design from York University and Sheridan College (2006). Her research focuses on social media's influence on consumer behavior, particularly in food cultures and healthcare decisions. She has explored topics such as food influencers in Scotland, beer marketing in Colombia, and AI integration in marketing education.

Teaching roles include Global Course Coordinator for Marketing Metrics and Social Media Marketing. She emphasizes employability through guest lectures, live briefs, and professional networks. Academic leadership roles include Chair of Boards of Examiners and participation in Heriot-Watt’s INSPIRE program for Senior HEA Fellowship.
