Kriss Ravetto-Biagioli is a Professor of Cinema and Digital Media and Science and Technology Studies at the University of California, Davis. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles (2001). Her research focuses on representations of violence, surveillance, digital art, and the uncanny in media. She co-edits the Edinburgh University Press series Film and Intermediality and leads initiatives like the Mellon Sawyer Seminar on Surveillance and Democracy.

Research Interests: Ravetto-Biagioli explores the intersection of digital technologies and cultural theory, particularly how surveillance and social media reshape political and aesthetic frameworks. Her work analyzes the 'digital uncanny'—how data-driven systems reinterpret Freudian concepts of the uncanny. She examines topics like fascism, nationalism, and the role of art in mediating trauma and memory.
