Krishnan K. Sankaran

Krishnan K. Sankaran serves as an Adjunct Professor in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas. His primary career spanned 36 years at Boeing and McDonnell Douglas, where he advanced to Senior Technical Fellow—Boeing's highest technical honor.

His expertise centers on aerospace materials and processes, including alloy development, welding metallurgy, and materials selection for aircraft design, manufacturing, and sustainment. He maintains collaborations with UNT faculty on alloy/process development projects.

Professional honors include:

• James B. Eads Award from Academy of Science of St. Louis
• Fellow, Academy of Science of St. Louis
• Honorary Member of Indian Institute of Metals (limited to 100 living members)

Professor Sankaran has held adjunct positions at Missouri University of Science & Technology (2009-2011) and Washington University in St. Louis (1991-1998). He designed and taught graduate courses in physical metallurgy and holds four U.S. patents.
