Prof. Krish Krishnan is a Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at California State University, Fresno. He holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science (India) and has prior research experience at the Scripps Research Institute, Burnham Institute, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. His research focuses on applying physics, mathematics, and computational methods to chemical and biological problems, with emphasis on NMR spectroscopy, biomarker detection, and protein dynamics.
Teaching responsibilities include Physical Chemistry courses (CHEM 108, 110A/B, 111, 215) and specialized classes in Biophysical Chemistry and NMR Spectroscopy. The Krish Lab investigates high-resolution NMR spectroscopy, molecular function through experimental/computational integration, and biostatistics/informatics for analyzing large datasets.
Major grants include NIH, NSF, and USDA funding. His work spans over 97 publications with recent focus areas including drug mechanism studies (glioblastoma treatment enhancement), NMR methodology development, and biomarker discovery in tuberculosis and cancer. The lab maintains strong ties with medical research through collaborations involving metabolomics and protein dynamics analysis.
Professional activities include maintaining a robust research program supported by multiple federal grants and teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Ongoing projects explore novel applications of NMR in complex mixture analysis and computational modeling of biomolecular systems.
