Kostas T. Konstantinidis

Kostas T. Konstantinidis is the Richard C. Tucker Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He holds a courtesy appointment in Biological Sciences and is affiliated with the Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University. His career spans prestigious institutions including Michigan State University, MIT, and Georgia Tech, where he has contributed extensively to microbial ecology and genomics.

Dr. Konstantinidis’s research focuses on the intersection of microbial ecology, genomics, and computational biology. He studies the genetic and metabolic diversity of bacteria and archaea in natural, engineered, and human-associated environments, aiming to understand their role in biogeochemical cycles, disease dynamics, and biotechnological applications. His work has been recognized through fellowships and awards.
