Georgia Institute of Technologyمعرفی
Dr. Xing Xie is the Carlton S. Wilder Associate Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Holding degrees from Tsinghua University (B.S. and M.S. in Environmental Science & Engineering) and Stanford University (M.S. in Materials Science & Engineering, Ph.D. in Civil & Environmental Engineering), his work focuses on innovative materials for sustainable water and energy systems. Key research areas include water treatment and reuse, energy recovery, environmental nanotechnology, and microbial detection.
- Develops electric field treatment systems for pathogen inactivation
- Engineers nanostructured electrodes for microbial control
- Designs self-driven water processing technologies using hydrogels
Recent publications span 2020-2025 and address topics like ultrafast water disinfection, low-voltage electroporation, and nanowire-modified systems. His work has earned 60+ peer-reviewed articles with 6,000+ citations. Awards include the 2023 College of Engineering Outstanding Faculty Achievement in Research (Early Career) and 2023 Sigma Xi Faculty Research Award at Georgia Tech.
Students mentored include Ph.D. graduate Wensi Chen (now Assistant Professor at Texas A&M) and Master's graduate Matthew Phillips. Current projects involve environmental biotechnology, water-energy-food nexus solutions, and nanostructured devices for pathogen control.
