Kostadin Topurov

Prof. Dr. Eng. Kostadin Topurov serves as a Part-time Lecturer at the Department of Roads and Transport Facilities, Faculty of Transport Engineering, University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) in Sofia, Bulgaria, with office hours including exam sessions as recently as June 2017.

Holding a PhD (1986) and Master of Engineering (1974) from VIAS, his expertise centers on Reinforced concrete bridges, Structural engineering, and Seismic engineering, demonstrated through landmark projects like the 155m-span suspension bridge at Momchilgrad and the multi-span Hemus Highway viaduct (68m+130m+140m+130m+120m+68m).

With over 40 scientific publications and 4 textbooks including Reinforced concrete girder bridges (2015) and Design of bridges for seismic impacts, his work emphasizes seismic-resistant design and prestressed concrete systems across international projects in Libya, Nigeria, UAE, and Iraq, where he provided chief consultancy for motorway infrastructure like the Lyulin Motorway.
