Konstantinos Tsongas

Konstantinos Tsongas serves as an Assistant Professor at the Industrial Engineering and Management Department of the International Hellenic University (I.H.U.) in Greece, with concurrent Adjunct Professor appointments at I.H.U. and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Engineering Departments since 2018.

He holds a diploma in structural engineering, MSc in advanced materials, and PhD in mechanical engineering. His doctoral research on vibration isolation using nanocomposite mounts received funding from the Fellowships of Excellence Postgraduate Studies program (IKY-Siemens).

Dr. Tsongas's research spans additive manufacturing of nanocomposite and recycled composites for sustainable structures, lattice architectures, mechanical characterization (including SEM/in-situ SEM), dynamic mechanical analysis, Digital Twins, Finite Element modeling, vibration control, and optimization algorithms. His work bridges advanced materials development with computational structural analysis.

Scientific recognition includes:

He has secured 14 research grants from HORIZON 2020, HORIZON EUROPE, ERASMUS+ KA2, and National programs (NSRF), focusing on Additive Manufacturing, Reverse Engineering, and mechanical characterization of complex structures. His collaborative network includes the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (C.E.R.T.H.) and multiple Greek academic institutions.
