Konstantinos Tzirakis serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), bringing over 15 years of research expertise in computational applications of Biomechanics and Computational Fluid Dynamics.
His academic foundation includes:
- Mechanical Engineering degree from the School of Mechanical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)
- PhD in Physics from the University at Buffalo
Dr. Tzirakis has secured research funding from diverse sources including the Greek State, European Union programs (SNF, KRIPIS, ESA), and the US National Science Foundation (NSF). His publication record comprises 21 scientific journal articles and book chapters with over 220 citations (Google Scholar h-index: 9, i10-index: 9), demonstrating significant impact in computational biomechanics and fluid dynamics research.
He has successfully supervised more than 10 thesis projects at HMU's Mechanical Engineering Department and currently mentors 3 additional students.
