Konstantinos Marias

Konstantinos Marias is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Hellenic Mediterranean University in Greece and serves as Chair of the University's Ethics Committee. He is concurrently the head and founder of the Computational Biomedicine Laboratory at the Institute of Computer Science, Foundation for Research & Technology Hellas (ICS-FORTH).

His research spans medical image processing and analysis, biomedical informatics, image-based modeling, and Radiomics applications with deep learning in medical imaging. He has coordinated two major European Commission projects on cancer modeling (ContraCancrum and TUMOR) and contributed to multiple EC-funded ICT development initiatives.

As an IEEE member for 18 years, he has held significant organizational roles in premier conferences including EMBC, BIBE, and IST across scientific committees, organizing bodies, and program chairs. His Computational Biomedicine Laboratory at FORTH-ICS drives innovation in biomedical computational methods, supported by his extensive publication record of over 350 papers.
