Konstantinos Gatsios is a Professor at the Department of Economics, Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He served as AUEB's Rector from 2011 to 2015 and has been a Member of the International Board at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) since 2015. His academic career spans roles at the University of Cambridge, where he was a Fellow and Director of Studies at Fitzwilliam College (1987-1992).

His research focuses on Microeconomic Theory, particularly the Theory and Policy of International Trade, Industrial Organization, Mathematical Economics, and Game Theory. He has published extensively in top journals like Review of Economic Studies and Journal of International Economics, with many works republished in books.
He has contributed to notable publications such as The New Palgrave Dictionary of Economics and the Law and served as Associate Editor for the European Journal of Political Economy (1994-1999). His institutional affiliations include memberships in the European Trade Study Group and former roles at the Cyprus University of Technology's Advisory Committee (2006-2011).
