Konstantinos Efthymiadis

Konstantinos G. Efthymiadis is a Professor at the Department of Physics, School of Physics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has served in academic roles since 1994, progressing from Lecturer to full Professor in 2018, and currently directs the Magnetism and Magnetic Materials Laboratory (2020–2024).

His educational background includes a BSc in Physics (1983) and PhD (1991) from the same institution, with doctoral research on "Electrical and magnetic properties of Ni₃Fe_xAl_1-x alloys".

Research focuses on experimental and theoretical characterization of magnetic materials, nanocrystalline magnetic systems, and magnetic sensor development. His work spans magnetic behavior simulation, materials optimization, and clinical applications like spinal magnetic stimulation.

He has authored 61 journal papers and 71 conference proceedings, plus three textbooks including translations of foundational works on magnetism.

Administrative leadership includes 27 years on the Department General Assembly (1995–2022), Directorship of Applied Physics & Environmental Physics (2009–2011), and Student Affairs Committee leadership (2012–2021).

Teaching spans 31 years with core courses: Electromagnetism (1997–2025), Magnetic Materials (1995–2015), and postgraduate Magnetic Characterization Laboratory (1996–2025).

Seven major funded projects include EU collaborations with Technische Universität Braunschweig on nanocrystalline magnets (1994–1996) and spinal stimulation simulations (2007–2010).
