Kolja Bopp is a Research Assistant at the HAW GamesLab within the Department of Media Technology at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg), where he has been employed since 2019. He holds a Master's degree in Social Science from Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg and founded the game studio Cultural Games in 2015 before transitioning to academic research.
His research explores the intersection of game design and social impact, with specialized interests in:
- Persuasive Games: Using procedural rhetoric to communicate complex ideas
- Cultural Games: Preserving cultural heritage through interactive narratives
- Playful Learning: Developing hybrid physical-digital educational environments
- AR Applications: Studying medial-physical reality fusion in gaming contexts
