With over 50 years of experience, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Army Reserves, rising to the rank of Major. His career spans consulting in land surveying, civil engineering, and law, specializing in boundary disputes, easements, and legal matters. He holds advanced degrees in Civil Engineering (Ph.D., Pennsylvania State University) and Law (J.D., West Virginia University).
His academic contributions include over 30 years of teaching, focusing on surveying education and professional practice. Notable works include legal/surveying books (e.g., Maine Boundary Litigation) and articles addressing boundary retracement, property law, and professional ethics. He is a Fellow of the National Society of Professional Surveyors and actively contributes to Maine State Bar Association initiatives.
