Gary Schuller

Gary Schuller is Professor and Director of the Surveying and Mapping Program in The University of Akron's Department of Civil Engineering. A Registered Professional Surveyor (Ohio #7465), he holds M.S. and B.S. degrees from UA and teaches courses in Boundary Surveying, GPS Surveying, and Applied Photogrammetry. His industry experience includes ownership of Schuller Surveying and positions with municipal engineering departments.

Schuller's research focuses on geospatial technologies including UAS photogrammetry, boundary evidence interpretation, and high-precision GNSS applications. He has secured grants for unmanned aerial systems and educational innovation from NCEES and institutional funding sources.

An active presenter at Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio events, Schuller contributes to best practices in surveying through publications and workshops on legal aspects, evidence interpretation, and emerging technologies.
