Klaus Tausend is an Associate Professor at the University of Graz, Faculty of Humanities, specializing in Mycenaeology and ancient marginal cultures. He has been actively involved in archaeological research in Greece since the 1990s, particularly focusing on the Peloponnese region with long-term projects at Pheneos and Arcadia.

His research combines archaeological fieldwork with historical analysis, covering:

Recent publications analyze fortification systems and regional identities in ancient Greece. He has received research funding from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and led multiple international symposia.
