Johanna Kraschitzer, Mag. Dr.phil., is a researcher at the Institute for Antiquity within the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Graz, Austria. She is actively engaged in archaeological studies focusing on medieval and early modern ceramics, particularly those from the Austrian regions of Carinthia and Styria.
Research interests
Her research revolves around the archaeological analysis of ceramics, with an emphasis on ceramic typology, terminology, and technological aspects of medieval and early modern pottery. She has conducted in-depth studies on the Carinthian black pottery tradition, investigating both its functional design and its distribution patterns beyond its region of origin.
