معرفی
Klaus Scholich is a Professor at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology, affiliated with Goethe University Frankfurt. His research focuses on understanding the crossregulation of immune cells and peripheral sensory neurons during inflammation that leads to chronic pain, particularly investigating lipid-activated GPCRs and their signaling pathways in both immune and peripheral nervous systems. Collaborations with institutions like the Fraunhofer IME, FIT, and Max-Planck Institute support translational approaches such as imaging techniques and high-throughput screenings.
His work encompasses methods like
- Lipid measurements (LC-MS/MS, TOF)
- Biochemical assays (receptor binding, ubiquitination)
- Cell biology (primary neurons, glia, macrophages)
- Imaging (MELC, Calcium Imaging)
- Animal models for inflammatory and neuropathic pain
Current research interests include chronic pain mechanisms, macrophage polarization, prostanoid receptors, and translational pain research, with recent publications analyzing lipid mediators, TRP channels, and ubiquitin ligase functions. Funded projects involve DFG and Else Kröner Fresenius Stiftung grants examining mast cells, platelet-macrophage interactions, and immunosuppression mechanisms.
Selected publications highlight his expertise in neuropathic pain signaling, lipid metabolism, and receptor regulation. Collaborations with Fraunhofer and Max-Planck institutes demonstrate the translational scope of his work.
Ongoing research includes immunosuppressive receptor mechanisms, neuro-immune interactions, and development of novel analgesics. His lab employs advanced techniques like 3D immunohistochemical reconstruction and FRET-based cAMP imaging to explore pain pathways.
