Kjell Lindgård is an Associate Professor at the Department of Medical Biology, UiT The Arctic University of Norway. He teaches histology, physiology, and anatomy across multiple programs including Biomedicine, Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, Nutrition, Nursing, Medicine, and Dentistry. His research focuses on Arctic animal physiology, particularly photoperiodic influences and energy metabolism in Svalbard ptarmigan.
Education: B.Sc. (1983), M.Sc. (1986), and Ph.D. (1996) from University of Tromsø. Previous roles include research assistant and doctoral researcher at the Department of Arctic Biology and Department of Experimental Pathology and Anatomy (1986–1996).
Research: Specializes in seasonal adaptations, body mass regulation, and metabolic responses in extreme environments. Publications explore photoperiodism, protein utilization during starvation, and behavioral endocrinology in avian species.
Affiliations: Member of the Vascular Biology research group. Current office location: MH øst L7.134, Tromsø.
