Kizzy Beaumont is a Research Assistant and PhD student at the University of Plymouth, affiliated with the School of Art, Design and Architecture under the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business. Her research focuses on Transformative Ocean Governance, examining the intersection of people and the environment through UK and international case studies including Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and Australian World Surfing Reserves.
- Educated at the University of Plymouth with an MSc in Biological Diversity and a BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology
- Current part-time Research Assistant for the AHRC Impact Acceleration Account Fellowship's Connecting with the Sea project
- Former roles include research assistant work with Blue Marine Foundation, DiadES Project, and Plymouth City Council
- Prior professional experience in UK public aquariums as displays supervisor
Her research methodology combines qualitative analysis, stakeholder interviews, and focus groups to study governance models and environmental stewardship. She contributes to Sustainable Development Goals through her work on marine futures and participatory governance.
