Kishna C Fowler

Kishna C Fowler is an Associate Professor of Voice at the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts, Howard University, Washington D.C. She is a renowned soprano celebrated for her commanding vocal artistry, versatility in genres like opera, gospel, and contemporary music, and her dedication to promoting cultural diversity through performance.

• Education: Morgan State University, The Juilliard School (Master’s in Music)

Her research and performance interests focus on opera, classical vocal music, and civil rights themes in music. She founded the Voice United Ensemble, a collaborative musical initiative to bridge racial and socioeconomic divides through art.

Ms. Fowler has performed internationally with prestigious orchestras like The Cleveland Orchestra, National Symphony, and San Francisco Symphony, and in operas such as Porgy and Bess, I Pagliacci, and Susannah. She has participated in significant events like the Kennedy Center’s Reframing the Narrative celebration of Black ballet and the Juneteenth festivities in Washington, D.C.
