Kirsty Hughes is Associate Professor of Human Rights Law at the University of Cambridge, Fellow of Clare College, and Director of the Centre for Public Law. Her research examines privacy rights, migration law, protest freedoms, and European human rights frameworks. She currently co-edits the European Human Rights Law Review and serves as Deputy Editor of Public Law.
Key publications analyze mass surveillance under the ECHR, Brexit's impact on EU citizens' residency rights, and the public figure doctrine in privacy law. Dr. Hughes's work has been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada and UK parliamentary committees. She has held research fellowships at EUI Florence, Harvard, and UNSW Sydney.
