Kirstin Mitchell

Kirstin Mitchell is Professor of Social Science and Public Health at the University of Glasgow, leading a 30-member research team focused on Social Relationships and Health. Her work examines how dyadic and group relationships impact health outcomes using mixed methods including social network analysis and intervention design.

Key research areas include sexual wellbeing measurement, school-based GBV prevention (Equally Safe at School trial), and adolescent sexuality development. She co-leads European collaborations on sexual behavior surveys and advises Scottish Government on sexual health strategies.

Education includes PhD from LSHTM and MSc from London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
