Kirk Reynolds serves as Professor of Physical Education and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Coach at Pomona College, where he has been employed since 1989 and is currently on leave for Spring 2026. A USATF certified coach and Track and Field News correspondent, he holds significant leadership roles including historian for NCAA Division III Cross Country and Track and Field Executive Committees.

His research centers on Kenyan distance running methodologies and NCAA Division III cross country dynamics, notably documented during his Spring 2004 sabbatical in Kenya where he studied the cultural and physiological factors behind Kenyan athletic dominance. This work bridges sports science with practical coaching applications in collegiate athletics.
Professional recognition includes:
- NCAA III West Region Track and Field Coach of the Year (twice)
- SCIAC Coach of the Year (nine times)
Reynolds mentors student-athletes through Women's Varsity Cross Country and Track and Field programs while teaching courses including Aqua Fit, Jogging/Running, and Ultimate Frisbee. His institutional impact extends through committee leadership and historical documentation of NCAA Division III athletics.
He actively directs Pomona College's Women's Track and Field and Cross Country programs, developing training regimens and competition strategies from the Center for Athletics, Recreation and Wellness facility.
