Kirk Allen Maasch

Kirk Allen Maasch is a Professor at the University of Maine, affiliated with both the School of Earth and Climate Sciences and the Climate Change Institute. With over 20 years of expertise, he specializes in using climate models and statistical methods to study climate change across timescales from years to millions of years. His work bridges simple dynamical systems to complex 3D atmospheric models.

Research focuses include developing theories for long-term climate change (e.g., ice ages), Holocene inter-annual to decadal variability, and the interplay between climate shifts and human activities. He also projects climate change impacts over the next century.
