Kira Jumet is an Associate Professor of Government at Hamilton College. Her work focuses on comparative politics, Middle East politics, and social movements, particularly examining the role of emotions in protest mobilization during the 2011 and 2013 Egyptian uprisings. She is the author of the book Contesting the Repressive State: Why Ordinary Egyptians Protested During the Arab Spring (Oxford University Press, 2017), which synthesizes her research on authoritarian regimes and democratization.
