Kimberly Sanders

Kimberly Sanders, PharmD, BCPS is an Associate Professor at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy with a shared appointment at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. She pioneered the educational partnership between the schools and focuses on interprofessional education and practice (IPEP), pharmacy integration into oral health, and health disparities.

• Education: PharmD from Purdue University, residency at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, postdoctoral research fellowship at UNC

Her scholarship bridges educational and practice-based research, with national recognition for expanding pharmacy-dentistry collaborations. She received the inaugural Julie S. Byerley Award (2022) for contributions to IPEP. Sanders also delivers continuing education on dental pain management and medication-related oral health issues.
