Kim Wiese is a Senior Instructor in the Environmental Design Program and Director of the Digital Fabrication Lab (FABLab) at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Architecture. With dual degrees from the University of Manitoba (M.Arch and BID), her professional background spans 15+ years in architecture/interior design and fashion design/marketing, including international experience in Stuttgart, Germany.
Her research explores the theory and practice of design communication, focusing on visual representation in architectural decision-making. She examines hierarchies of words and images in design publications/presentations and investigates theories of spatial representation.
As co-founder of STUFF think-tank, she explores environmental contexts in design across scales—from industrial objects to urban structures—examining their environmental impacts and effects.
