Lancelot Coar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Architecture. He researches material behavior and innovative construction techniques.

He leads the Clearwater Studio project, a community collaboration that repurposes century-old buildings into new structures. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. and Le Museé des Arts et Metier in Paris.
Coar teaches design studios and technology courses, receiving the University of Manitoba Presidential Outreach Award and Carl Nelson Teaching Award.
