Kim Scarsi

Kim Scarsi, PharmD, is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Pharmacy. She was appointed to this role in 2025, succeeding Daren Knoell. Dr. Scarsi holds the Lewis E. and Antonia E. Harris Professorship and has been recognized as a UNMC Distinguished Scientist for her NIH-funded research in optimizing pharmacologic therapies for HIV treatment and prevention, with a focus on global health and gender-related issues. She has contributed to national committees, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Panel on Antiretroviral Guidelines and the NIH Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council. Clinically, she consults at UNMC’s HIV clinic and teaches in infectious diseases, women’s health, and pharmacokinetics. Her leadership includes roles as vice chair of her department and fostering collaboration in patient-centered care initiatives with Nebraska Medicine. Dr. Scarsi joined UNMC in 2013 and emphasizes improving pharmacist training and clinical outcomes across Nebraska.
