Kim Peijnenburg is a Full Professor of Household Finance at Tilburg University. She holds affiliations with CEPR, Netspar, and the Big Data in Finance Center in Denmark. Previously, she held faculty roles at EDHEC Business School (2018–2024), HEC Paris (2016–2018), and Bocconi University (2011–2016). She earned her Ph.D. in Finance from Tilburg University in 2011.
Research Focus: Her work centers on household finance, behavioral finance, and health economics. Notable topics include portfolio diversification, decision-making under risk, and the socioeconomic impacts of health shocks.
Recognition: Awarded the 2021 Best Researcher under 40 in Finance and Insurance in France. She is an Associate Editor at the Review of Financial Studies (since 2024).
Contributions: Co-organizes the Tilburg Finance Summit (e.g., 2025 conference on Housing and Mortgage Choices). Her research bridges empirical finance and policy, with publications in top journals like the Review of Financial Studies and American Economic Journal: Applied Economics.
