Kim Peijnenburg is a Full Professor in the Department of Finance at Tilburg University's TS Economics and Management school. He specializes in behavioral finance, household finance, and pension planning. His research focuses on topics such as ambiguity aversion, portfolio choice, health shocks' societal impacts, and financial decision-making.
He leads the Research Group: Finance and collaborates with the Center for Big Data in Finance at Copenhagen Business School (since July 2024). Recent work includes studies on health shocks prompting criminal behavior, investor ambiguity attitudes, and household portfolio underdiversification.
Peijnenburg has published in top journals including the American Economic Journal-Applied Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial Economics. His research has been widely cited, with notable attention from academic platforms like Mendeley and policy sources.
Key projects include the 2007-2011 initiative on optimal life-cycle planning for individuals and pension schemes, and ongoing work leveraging big data in financial analysis.
