Jun-Hee An is a Lecturer in the Department of Finance at Tilburg University, affiliated with the TS Economics and Management school. He is a PhD Candidate in Finance (expected 2025) under Professors T. Nijman and A.D. Waegenaere, funded by the Life Insurance Social Contribution Committee in Korea. He holds a MSc in Pension Finance (Kyung Hee University, 2018) and BSc in Finance (Hanyang University, 2016), complemented by a MRes in Finance from Tilburg University (2020).
His research focuses on pension finance, actuarial science, and household finance, particularly addressing income stability for retirees and longevity risk mitigation. He explores welfare effects of financial products like variable annuities and ESG investing by institutional investors. His job market paper examines socio-economic disparities in pension gaps linked to longevity risks.
Teaching includes courses such as Statistics for Pre-master, Risk and Regulation, and Data Analysis for EBE. He is a Junior Fellow at Netspar, contributing to aging-related research initiatives. His doctoral thesis Essays on Pension Economics and Individual Welfare (2025) synthesizes his work on pension systems and individual welfare optimization.
