Kim C. Williamson is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) School of Medicine, Bethesda, MD. She holds a Ph.D. from Boston University and a B.S. from Ithaca College, with postdoctoral training at the NIH Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases.
- Education:
- Ph.D., Boston University

Her research focuses on the basic biology and immunology of malaria parasites, particularly Plasmodium falciparum. Key projects include malaria drug and vaccine development, gametocytogenesis, and parasite-host interactions in Ghana. She contributes to malaria eradication efforts through the malERA Refresh Panel and serves on the editorial board of Parasitology Research.
Scientific trends in her 10 most recent publications (2016-2024) span malaria transmission biology, proteasome-targeting therapeutics, immune response dynamics, and gametocyte regulation. Collaborative works address postoperative infection risk modeling and neuroimmunological complications, demonstrating interdisciplinary applications of her expertise.
