Kim Bul is an Assistant Professor (Research) at Coventry University's Centre for Intelligent Healthcare, specializing in serious games, gamification, and e-health interventions for mental health, particularly targeting adolescents and older adults. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Erasmus University Rotterdam (2017), with prior degrees in Developmental Psychology and Pedagogical Sciences. Her work addresses behavior change through technology, focusing on eating disorders, co-rumination in friendships, and improving treatment adherence in kidney transplant patients. She has received awards including the Educational Bursary (2018) and Travel Grant CIRAL (2018).
Research interests span serious game design, digital health innovation, and translating research into clinical practice. She leads projects like the 'Maze-Out' serious game for eating disorder treatment and co-supervises PhD candidates at University of Applied Sciences Rotterdam.
