Ki Young Choi

Dr. Ki Young Choi is a Lecturer at the School of Languages and Cultures, The University of Queensland. With a career spanning since 2010, he has taught and researched Korean language education in Korea, Thailand, and Australia.

• Research Focus: Critical analysis of Korean textbooks using Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and Visual Image Analysis (VIA).
• Education: PhD in Korean Language Education (UQ), Master of Education (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies), Master of Theology (Methodist Theological University), and Bachelor of Public Administration (Chungnam National University).
• Publications: 1 book, 1 journal article, 2 conference papers, and 2 theses focusing on textbook ideologies, cultural representation, and language teaching strategies.
• Fields of Interest: Korean language education, CDA, VIA, cultural values in textbooks, and cross-cultural pedagogy.
