Ki Byung Chae is a licensed clinical mental health counselor with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from The College of William and Mary. He holds a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Chung-Ang University, South Korea.
- Licensure: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina
- Certifications: Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate (East Carolina University), Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 3 Training, SBIRT Trainer
Dr. Chae specializes in counselor supervision, multicultural competence, and rural mental health challenges. His research explores supervisory relationships, family counseling dynamics, and mental health access for rural populations.
His recent publications and conference presentations focus on supervision environment assessments, academic probation interventions, and cross-cultural counseling validation tools. He employs group theory, attachment frameworks, and experiential learning in his methodological approaches.
