Dr. Khadijah Johnson serves as an Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator at Huntington University, joining the faculty in 2024 with over 10 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy. Her expertise spans pediatric settings, women's health, and community-based interventions.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences (Psychology concentration) from Seton Hall University
- Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Kean University
- Post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Towson University, with a doctoral capstone developing wellness programs for homeless/abused pregnant women
Dr. Johnson's research focuses on mental health, maternal health, pelvic health, and community-based services. She has extensive experience designing occupation-based interventions including sensory modulation rooms, feeding groups, and holistic pelvic health programs. Her clinical work addresses trauma-informed care for perinatal populations and vulnerable women through community partnerships.
Professional recognitions include Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist certification with ongoing pursuit of Perinatal Mental Health Certification.
