Kevin Thomason serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Foreign Languages within the College of Liberal Arts at McNeese State University. He is a faculty member of the MFA Program in Creative Writing and directs the university's first-year writing program.
His research and teaching focus on poetry and creative writing, with particular emphasis on American and British literature. Thomason is the author of the poetry collection Even the Sky, and he teaches courses including Graduate Poetry Workshop, Form and Theory of Poetry, and The American Sonnet. His expertise spans contemporary poetic forms and literary traditions from Romanticism to the present day.
Thomason advises graduate students in the MFA Creative Writing program and leads the development and implementation of first-year writing courses across the university, overseeing curriculum design and instructional strategies for foundational English education.
