Dr. Kevin Sweetwood is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), within the School of Medicine. He serves as Director of the Musculoskeletal Fellowship Program and is affiliated with the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. His clinical interests focus on musculoskeletal imaging, sports imaging, and image-guided pain management. Dr. Sweetwood completed his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine (highest honors) and radiology residency at UCSF, where he served as chief resident. He has held roles on the Residency Recruitment Committee, Executive Committee (as chief resident representative), and the Radiology COVID Response Team.
Research interests include molecular imaging techniques (e.g., SPECT/CT, PET/MRI) for low back pain evaluation, digital consensus platforms for radiologists, and MRI-guided interventions. He has published extensively in radiology journals and holds the Stanley W. Olson Award and Alpha Omega Alpha honor society membership.
