Dr. Kevin Stamplecoskie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Queen's University, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Science. His research focuses on synthesizing and spectroscopically analyzing metal clusters and nanomaterials tailored for advanced applications in photonics, chemical sensing, biomedical imaging, and renewable energy. He leads the Stamplecoskie Group, which aims to develop materials with tunable electronic and optical properties for cutting-edge devices.
Dr. Stamplecoskie holds a PhD from the University of Notre Dame and a B.Sc. (Honours) from the University of Waterloo. His work spans nanomaterials design, ultrafast spectroscopy, and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy. Key research interests include ligand engineering for nanocluster stability, photodynamic therapy applications, and hydrovoltaic energy systems.
Recent studies highlight innovations in atomically precise gold and silver clusters, quantum dot photovoltaics, and bio-inspired materials. His team collaborates with the Carbon to Metal Coating Institute at Queen's University to advance practical applications of nanotechnology in energy and medicine.
