Kevin Musselman

Kevin Musselman is an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo, specializing in functional nanomaterials for optoelectronic devices, energy systems, and sensors. His work focuses on scalable manufacturing techniques like atmospheric pressure spatial atomic layer deposition (AP-SALD) and pulsed laser methods. He holds a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge (2010) and prior to Waterloo, was a Hertha Ayrton Junior Research Fellow at Girton College, Cambridge.

Research Interests: Nanomaterials synthesis, photovoltaic devices, nanoelectronics, IoT-enabled sensors, electrochemical methods, and industrial coating development for automotive/aerospace applications. His lab explores novel materials such as 2D semiconductors (MoS₂, WS₂), metal oxides (ZnO, TiO₂), and perovskite-based systems.
