Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith is a full-time Professor at the School of Law, University of Memphis, where he has served since 1993. He held the position of Dean from 2007-2012, during which he oversaw the school's relocation to the historic U.S. Custom House/Federal Courthouse in downtown Memphis.

Professor Smith's research focuses on Secured Transactions, Commercial Paper, and the intersection of Law, Science, and Technology. He explores jurisprudence, business organizations, and applies social science and statistics to legal analysis. His work has appeared in journals such as the Akron Law Review, Hofstra Law Review, and University of Memphis Law Review, covering topics like disability law, Supreme Court decision-making, and legal pedagogy.
