Kevin Rioux is an Associate Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science at St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, St. John's University. He holds a Ph.D. (2004), ML.IS. (2001), and M.A. (1991) from the University of Texas at Austin, along with a B.A. from Louisiana State University (1988).
His research and teaching focus on collection development, information needs and behaviors, media production, reference services, and website usability, with an emphasis on social justice issues in the information professions. He has taught core courses such as LIS 204: Introduction to Library and Information Science, LIS 222: Materials and Services to Diverse Populations, and LIS 239: Research and Evaluation Methods.
