Kevin R. Garewal

Kevin R. Garewal is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Law Library at Cleveland State University. He has extensive experience in academic librarianship, including leadership roles in library budgeting, collection development, and workforce management.

• Education: MA in Taxation (2012), JD (2004) from Cleveland State University College of Law, MLIS (1998) from Kent State University School of Library, BA in Sports Medicine (1996) from Baldwin Wallace University

His research focuses on optimizing library budget models, analyzing collection usage, advancing open access initiatives, and addressing workforce morale challenges in academic libraries. These interests align with his professional experience in managing large-scale library operations and services.

Professor Garewal is a member of the Ohio Bar and previously served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Cuyahoga County. Prior to his current role, he held positions as Vice Provost and Dean of Libraries at the University of Rochester and Associate Director of Collections at Harvard Law School Library.
