Kevin Lawson is a Professor of Educational Studies at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. He specializes in strengthening church educational ministries, having served 11 years as a church minister of Christian education. His research focuses on local church educational ministry, theological foundations, children’s spiritual formation, and leadership issues. He holds degrees in Christian education, biblical studies, and educational administration.
He serves as editor of the Christian Education Journal and chairs the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities’ Council for Collaboration in Doctoral Education. His recent publications include Supervising and Supporting Ministry Staff: A Guide to Thriving Together (2017) and Infants and Children in the Church: Five Views on Theology and Ministry (2017).
Lawson has contributed to numerous periodicals and edited volumes, addressing topics like ministry staff development, historical pedagogy, and faith formation. He semi-retired in 2021 but continues teaching in Biola’s PhD/EdD programs and supervising doctoral students.
