Kevin Kaempf is an Associate Professor whose practice focuses on collaborative projects, social spaces, and participatory processes. He has been involved in initiatives such as co-running the experimental community space Mess Hall in Chicago and developing environmental pilot programs across the US. His work also includes collaborations with the performance collective Lucky Pierre.
Exhibitions include shows at prominent institutions such as The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; The Smart Museum of Art, Chicago; and White Columns in New York. Kaempf has held visiting roles at Illinois State University and as an Artist in Residence at Ox-Bow School of Art.
His research interests emphasize community-driven art practices, environmental interventions, and interdisciplinary performance. Key works include installations like Chicago Blue Bikes (Prototypes), Street Sign Designs (Blue Line Aphorisms), and Transmissions (Cartas), which explore themes of public engagement and material transformation.
