Kevin Foster is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the African and African Diaspora Studies Department at The University of Texas at Austin. He focuses on improving academic outcomes for underrepresented minority students and leads initiatives in student achievement through project teams. Dr. Foster is also an elected member of the Austin School Board, founding Executive Producer of PBS Black Academics Television, and oversees the Rather Prize in Education. His work spans academia, government, and nonprofit sectors.

Research Focus

Leadership and Contributions
A former president of the National Black Graduate Student Association, Council on Anthropology and Education, and Association of Black Anthropologists, Dr. Foster has authored dozens of publications and founded a nonprofit organization. He actively collaborates with schools and government agencies to address structural barriers in education.
