معرفی
Dr. Kevin Darras is currently a Researcher at the EFNO research group within INRAE Val de Loire, France. His career includes postdoctoral positions at TU Dresden (Germany), Westlake University (China), and the University of Göttingen (Germany), alongside a PhD in Agroecology from the IPAG program at the University of Göttingen. His research focuses on biodiversity patterns, ecosystem services, and ecoacoustic monitoring in rainforest transformation systems. He pioneered the Landscape Assessment project, a large-scale biota and socio-economic evaluation now coordinated by Arne Wenzel. His work involves acoustic sampling of sonant animals in tropical agroecosystems and methodological advancements in ecological monitoring.
Education:
- 2023–present: Researcher at EFNO, INRAE Val de Loire

- 2004–2007: Bachelor in Biological Sciences, ETH Zurich
Research Interests:
Dr. Darras investigates biodiversity dynamics in human-modified tropical landscapes using ecoacoustic methods. Key areas include:
- Acoustic sampling of birds and bats in oil palm/rubber plantations
- Ecological function and ecosystem services of transformed rainforests
- Landscape-scale biodiversity assessments integrating socio-economic factors
Collaborative Work:
Supports ecoacoustic monitoring on ecoSound-web and mosquito sampling for the Landscape Assessment initiative. His methodologies include point counts, mist netting, exclusion studies, and meta-analyses.
