Florencia Sangermano

Florencia Sangermano is an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Geography, Clark University, specializing in geospatial conservation science. Her work bridges GIS, remote sensing, and landscape ecology to address climate change, deforestation, and biodiversity loss.

Her research focuses on ecosystem resilience, zoonotic spillover risk, and ecoacoustic monitoring. Projects include modeling 2050 terrestrial ecosystems, assessing Amazonian biodiversity via acoustic data, and developing deforestation simulation tools for REDD+ initiatives.

Recent work trends highlight applications of land cover change modeling, species distribution refinement using GIS, and anthropogenic-ecological interaction analysis. She has contributed to global initiatives with Conservation International, USGS, and EcoHealth Alliance.
